Let's see- November- we had snow for most of it, and some chilly days.
We moved Nate's cattle home as detailed in the last post.
Deer season- Matt put a nice one down opening day!! A 10 pointer that had a broken point so is really only a 9 pointer.... He's got quite a story and let's just say it took more than one shot this time....He wasn't going to let it get away!
We played music for a Thanksgiving Eve service at a church about 1 1/2 hrs Northeast of here. It was a great concert and we met some very nice people. They fed us some really yummy pie afterwards too! (I was surprised to see one of my student families walk in... Actually I don't know who was more surprised- my student or myself!). When you teach students from all over you run into them all over. Take for an example the Monday before Thanksgiving- I had the week off from teaching and went with Mom to a town about 30 miles west of here- I don't teach in this town but over the course of the day ran into 2 student families. So it's becoming a joke that no matter where I go, I often see students.
After the concert we visited for quite a while and so it was nearing midnight before we made it to bed that night- and then had to be up and at it the next day to finishing prepping for the feast! And what a feast it was! Thanksgiving dinner is one thing that we are very traditional with- and nobody complains about it.
Pie's were a group effort by us sisters, but Laura made the crust. The first 5 went together quick enough that Laura decided to try something new on the last one... A lattice. It took quite awhile, and was a project but turned out pretty! Pictures are to document it as it might be the only one she makes like this.
Was fun to have some of Mom's side of the family join us- including a few cousins. After chores (and a supper of leftovers) us cousins played Scum for several hours. Grateful for the time we got to spend together. I'm also grateful for many other people, blessings, opportunities, and resources the Lord has given us to steward. And giving thanks often for the gift that God gave to us in sending His Son, into this world to pay the penalty of sin in our place.
