It seems that the summer has just started, but it's already the last day of July... Life here as been a whirlwind. Making hay, running for parts, fixing equipment, moving animals to fresh pasture on a regular basis, milking cows/doing chores, taking care of our 3 large gardens, and playing some music. These pictures of Nate's cows and calves are from May, when we rounded them up to move them  from the calving pasture to summer pasture.  I know this was a long time ago, but I don't often post pictures of his cattle, so I wanted to share these.   I got to pull a big stock trailer for the first time.  Nate borrowed his boss's truck and trailer so we had less trips to make. The culprits of the early morning explosions on Fair-View Farm (FVF) have been located. According to the farm’s news reporter, residents of the farm house and neighbors were awakened at 5:10AM to a string of explosions. BANG,--- BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG.   A witness of the event said that there was the sound of running footsteps on the driveway just before the explosions. Upon investigation the explosions have been determined to be from a whole package of firecrackers. Shortly after this incident, which was followed by several other firecrackers, the two teenage minors responsible for all this noise were located in the barn setting up for the morning milking. The minors, whose names will not be released, were chipper as all get out and had started chores. They informed another resident who appeared on the scene that they hoped they had awakened her early enough to make pancakes for breakfast.   FVF’s neighbor to the south ...
