I started this post early in the month- but then never got it finished... May was a busy month. I'll try to share the highlights with you: May 1st arrived with snow. We woke up to fresh snow on the ground and more snow fell during the morning. However, it didn't stick around long. By Saturday the 4th, it had warmed up considerable and we had a lovely spring day. The rest of the month has alternated between a few warmer days, but over all cool and wet days. It snowed again on May 19. What a spring! We used up pretty much all our hay and are hoping that the grass grows quickly! It's greening up around here and the cows are grazing- but we could use some warmer weather to really give it a boost. "Baby animal" season is here- starting with the dairy cows, followed by the beef cows, sheep, goats, baby chicks, and most recently Silas bought some feeder pigs. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” (ESV) These past couple of weeks have been ones of learning, or relearning that sometimes our plans don't line up with God's plans. Being a farming family, we have come to accept the fact that days often don't go as we plan, various types of things come up and change the plans for the day, or at least timeliness of accomplishing the tasks. The small changes in daily life, we accept and alter plans as needed. I would say that we have developed a good sense of flexibility in our personal lives.
