We had a rather loud and unexpected start to our morning here on the farm! This is Emily, bringing you the news of the day. It began around 5:00 am with a strong winds blowing in the trees The wind didn't last long and it soon let up, but in it's place came thunder and lightening. For the next 25 minutes or so it was thunder clap after thunder clap, and lighting bolt after lighting bolt. The thunder was loud and seemed to be right above us many of them rattling the house. Many of the lighting bolts were blinding flashes of light. I've never experienced a storm like this go on for so long before. Part way through the storm around there was a CRACK! A sound like no other, and immediately I knew something had been hit by lightening. Nate who was watching from his bed, saw the lighting hit one of the giant white pine trees that is our in our yard, These trees are about 100 in age.
