Part 2 of the August update. Wild plums are in abundance: so Silas, Laura, and I collected a whole bunch of them and turned them into juice: the next step was to turn them into jelly which happened a couple days later. This hawk landed just in front of me on my way to feed lambs one evening. I watched it for a while, wishing I had my camera as I only about 8 feet from it. After we stared at each other for a bit, I continued on my way, and it flew off it's fence post perch. However, on my way back past, it was sitting back on the same fence post. It didn't leave as I drove by on the 4-wheeler, so I made a hustle for home, grabbed the camera and bee-lined it back out to the field. It was still there. So I shut the engine off, took some pictures, climbed off and walked around it to get some different angles. It just sat there.
