Memorial Day Thoughts

"Someone had to die, for the freedom that we share, We are here today, because of sacrifice and prayer, Freedom is not free, it is paid for with blood, When you see the flag wave high Remember someone had to die." ** This is the chorus from a song our family has sung in the past- we didn't sing it today, but it was going through my head as I was thinking about this day that is set aside to remember those who have given much for the freedoms we enjoy. This morning we played music at one of the local cemeteries for a memorial service. We had to play in a light sprinkle of rain, but thankfully nothing got too wet.  It waited until this afternoon to really pour. We've been playing for this service for a number of years, and I like that it makes us take the time to stand still for a bit to remember what freedom cost and to be thankful. We're thankful for the freedom to worship God our Creator and Savior wit...

The calf that was born today: sure doesn't look like it's mama... Matt is getting a barrel ready to use to feed calves.
