Baby Animals Spring 2020 Have you been waiting for my annual baby animal picture post?   The wait is over! Enjoy the cuteness! May 5th:  Laura went and picked up our 200 chicks! They loose their baby fluff so fast- and by the time they are a few days old, they start to feather out. May 6th: First of Nate's beef calves was born, with assistance. She was coming backwards, so Nate and Grace had to pull her. Thankfully, she's was fine and is doing well now. (Note the cow in the background is not her mama...)  May 12th: First dairy calf of the year was born. She was a pint-sized mostly Jersey heifer- but she's growing. :) May 15th: 3 kids and 2 lambs arrived. And then there were more!  Matt's twin calves: Current baby animal count: (And we still have a ways to go...) Dairy Calves: 27 Beef Calves: Not sure, around 30  [That's what I was told when I asked. 😉 ] Kids:10 Lamb...

May has been a bit of a blur! I had this blog post drafted almost 2 weeks ago, but didn't get the pictures uploaded so it never got published. So here is the updated version of that blog post, with my annual baby animal blog post to come soon. First, I need to introduce you to a new animal who has joined the farm since my last post: This beautiful horse now belongs to Nate. Her name is Pretty Megan Frost! (We call her Megan.)    Fishing season opened at the beginning of the month. Silas likes to fish (and drive the boat he fixed up last year). He talked siblings into taking him fishing a few different times this month.  Not a lot of fish have been caught, but I think those who went have enjoyed the time on the water anyway. Silas' latest projects have been boat motors. The one he had fixed up for his boat last year, went on the raft this spring. After that, he had fun watching several "sell your stuff" websites for old used boat motor...
