Happy New Year from our family to yours! Nate hosted a New Year's Eve party at his place and we had a few friends over to play games with us. Our folks came home at some point in the midst of the game playing.  I don't think any of us really intended to stay up til midnight, but time flies when you are having fun and so we only had to play few more rounds of "Scum" til the clocks showed midnight. Since my computer was still up and running when I got home, I figured I might as well be one of the first to wish you all a Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2020... 

Once upon a December.... There was lovely morning of whiteness...  These pictures doesn't really do it justice, but it was pretty out there. We've got snow- and plenty of it, which makes one of us (Matt) very happy, as he has been able to start training early this year. He is already getting a number of miles on his dogs. I haven't been out on the trail to take pictures of him yet this year- but here is a snapshot of him all hooked up and ready to take off.  His pups are growing, and are getting big. They love interaction with people and jump all over us whenever we venture into their pen. Speaking of snow, we got a lot of it early on- and it was a bit to heavy for our machine shed roof. One end of it now has a large skylight! Thankfully, Dad heard it crack and had time to move a few things out of the way before it gave way, some small things where damaged, but not any of our big equipment.  We've done some clean-up, and built support for...

Hello blog readers! Things may have been quiet here on the blog for the past couple months but that's in part due to the fact that our lives have been anything but quiet. Time has flown by and life has been a bit of a whirlwind.   "Anticipation"  As I (Emily) reflect on the journey of this fall, I've chosen some of the highlights and happenings to share with you. I'll let you know right now that this is a lengthy post with quite a few pictures... [There- you've been warned!]  The beginning of September was challenging and hard, but the Lord was faithful to give us grace and strength for every day.  Our dear Grandma Betty, (Dad's mom), went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept 5. My parents, along with most of my dad's siblings and spouses, spent the last 6 days of her life with her in a hospice home in the Cities. Remember earlier this year that I had mentioned that we had been busy with music and I was going to tell you about it later?   Ready for the big news?  Drum roll please...... Our brand new CD "A Story to Tell" is ready for your listening pleasure!!!  We are so excited to have copies of our first CD ready to share with you! It has 15 of our favorite songs on it.  You can get your copy by coming to a town hall music night (the next one is Oct 19th), or by stopping by the farm to see us. :) 

Ready for more puppy pictures?  They will be 6 weeks old on Monday and I thought you might like  individual pictures of them so you can learn their names. I took these pictures during chores this evening.The puppies are quite playful now and all have different personalities, but puppy personalities are hard to describe in writing, so I'm not even going to try....  :)  Brooks - Female Smokey - Male Cascade -female Ridge - male Sangre - Male Teton  - male Sierra - a female Obviously the pups (and all the dogs) love Matt!  They are so excited to see him when he walks in the kennel. 

The three of us sisters did a camping trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior the 3rd week in August.  Since Grace and I had a "vacation" while we were at camp (not really, we still worked hard, but it was a break from the farm)  and our brothers have plans to head west for a hunting trip this fall, Laura was feeling a bit left out and wanted to have some time away from the farm as well.  She talked Grace and I into a short vacation and we chose to go camping in Northern MN.
