We got a new puppy!! And we have all been enjoying her... I've maybe gone a little overboard on taking pictures (not going to share how many I've taken so far,) but unless she is sleeping she doesn't stay still very long so it's tough to get a good picture. :) She loves people and is a plump, fuzzy, ball of energy. Currently, she plays hard for a while and then zonks out for a good long nap. Her future job will be to herd the animals here on the farm.
In early August, we attended the Lake Itasca Family Music Festival. I think this is about the 10th year we've attended. As the name suggests it's very close to Lake Itasca, in fact the festival grounds border the state park. It was a great weekend! Good family time on the drive, lots of great music and a weekend off chores. We did most of the food prep ahead of time so meals were easy too. This festival is our yearly inspiration to keep playing music as a family. I'm always sorry when it's over, but so glad we got to attend again. We knew one of the family bands that played there this year, so it was fun to have some time with them during the weekend too!
"Puppy Attack!"
She's the first pup that's been allowed to sleep on the porch, but it's the most convenient way to keep track of her right now.

Nate moved into the house down the road from us. It's been a multi-year remodel project, mostly because it's been low on the priority list. There are still plenty of projects to do- the kitchen needs to be finished, and the living room and the upstairs will need to be redone at some point, but for now he has a very livable space. Here are two pictures of the main living area.
Matt and Silas are enjoying having a little more room now that he moved out. Matt's desk now resides in his room instead of in mine- which is nice.
The garden is producing some things now, so the food harvesting/preserving season has begun. So nice to have fresh veggies from the garden to enjoy right now!
And a couple close-ups to end the post today.
I'm so thankful for the beauty that God created and the details in the small things
